Ragleth Inn Race

Little Stretton, 25th August 2010, 7:00pm – 4mile – 1,237ft
Last race in the Shropshire Hill Summer Series with a few places still up for grabs and the weather as bad as ever it made it and exciting contest, condition were slippy under foot, windy and cold on top in the clouds. We had 3 runners turn up on the night, Tom Fisher new to the fell scene finishing an impressive 8th after taking a bad fall and tearing the back out of is shorts and scratching his arms and legs to hell, Dan Brazier needing a top 10 finish to stay in the top 10 standing finishing 9th and Duncan Davies level on points with a fellow V50 just missed out by one place on the night. Also with Ian Grindley and Nigel Share on holiday they were looking on helpless to how this race would effect their positions in the series.

Stourbridge Stumble 10k

14th August 2010 – Victory for Callum Eden

Another club victory on Saturday with Callum winning comfortably by 22 seconds with a time of 38:10. Also a successful run from Tess Parkinson finishing 2nd woman and 19th overall with a time of 43:12 with almost 200 runners turning up.

Cannock Chase, 11th August 2010 7:15pm,

Perfect evening for racing with a good atmosphere at this well organised 5 mile race with almost 400 runners, 7 turned out from the club in a strong field.

Midlands League Success

Well done to everyone who competed at the final match of the Midlands League at Dash. The results are available from the MCAA website.

It was a great occasion and I was so proud of you all – it was so rewarding watching all the athletes and officials celebrating promotion. More pictures are available on our club image gallery.

On the day the club broke two Div 3 league records and equalled another two. The women won the 4 x 400m in a time of of 4.00.6 breaking the the previous record which stood at 4.05.9.

Not to be out done the 4 x 100m men team also broke the league record breaking 44sec with a time of 43.5 beating the previous record of 43.6.

Jodie Harrison equalled the Div 3 record for the women 400m and Alex Nwenwu also equalled his own 110m league record of 14.9 set at the last match at Aldersley.

Well done to you all for the hard work over the season and to all the officials who turned up at every meeting ensuring we never lost any points away from the track and field events during the whole season.

Enville Athletic 10K

25th July 2010 – Victory for Dave Evans

Winning a tough hilly 10k, leaders times were out by 4 to 5 minutes but Dave showing his strength still managed to win by over 3 minutes, with Dave Smith also running well finishing 3rd it was a sucessful turn out from Wolves and Bilston.

NJL Match 4 Results

Well done to all who made it to today’s National Junior League Match 4 at Aldersley Stadium. With it being the first weekend of the school holidays many athletes from other teams were absent, but we had a great turn out and filled almost every event. Thanks to everyone for yet another well hosted and well run event on home ground.

Athlete of the Match medals went to Alex Nwenwu of Wolves & Bilston for his 110 hurdles Grade 1 time of 14.4 sec, and Hayley Rubery of Telford for her Discus Throw of 36.09m, just 11cm short of a Grade 1. The rest of the results can be downloaded here.

With a couple missing due to holiday and fitness we still had 9 club members turn out to run and walk on a warm evening in the 5th race in the sexarathon series, with a few SB, a PB and Lisa Kehler walking faster than most people can run, it was good night for all involved.

Stiperstones Fell Race

Shropshire, 3.2 mile AS 800ft, 14th July 2010, 7:30pm

We had 4 turn out from the club to run on a lovely evening with sunshine, rain, wind, and sunshine again, typical fell running conditions. With the Shropshire Summer Series well under way this was the fifth race in the series and with only one race left at Ragleth Inn on August 25th at 7:00pm we’re on the verge of having 3 in the top 10.

Midsummer 6 2010 Results

Well done to everyone who turned out for the Midsummer 6 today. Once again the weather was great and everyone who volunteered to help made sure that everything ran really smoothly.

Midlands Track & Field League results

Well done to everyone today who helped out and participated at Match 3 of the Midland Track & Field, Division 3. It was a very successful day for us as a club hosting the match at Aldersley, made even more enjoyable by winning the match with a considerable margin. You can download the provisional results here, but please bear in mind these have yet to be cross-checked and verified by the MCAA.
