Volunteer Roles

Below is a list of some of the important positions we have at the club that may be of interest to you.

The club is growing and with nearly 300 members we need more coaches to accommodate new and existing members. All coaches will have to be CRB checked and will need to attend a level one athletics coaching course no previous coaching experience is required. The club are happy to cover the cost of the course providing you spend time coaching for the club.
Athletics officials
One of the major requirements at a meeting is officials with out them the event cannot go ahead. Each club has to provide officials or they can lose points. We are looking for volunteers who might want to get involved in helping with officiating. We require track judges timekeepers field judges and marksman/women. The season starts in April and we plan to hold a officials course before the start of the season or make sure you attend a course before the season starts
Reception Officer
On club nights meet greet and welcome beginners to the club identify their requirements. Be a point of contact for parents
Press officer
Promote the club’s success to the local paper on a regular basis. Make contact with the sports editor get the press interested in our club.
Minutes Secretary
A person to attend monthly committee/coaches meeting and record the minutes. Type up minutes distributes them before the next scheduled meeting.
Social Secretary
Task to organise social events for the club including our club awards evening.
Registration officer
Will include updating our membership list on a regular basis. Ensuring England Athletics and Midland Counties have the correct list of all our current members. Managers have information of current members available for selection. Making sure al members have paid their subscription if not make contact for payment.
Team Managers
Required attending selection meetings when necessary. Select athletes at least 2 weeks before competitions arrange transport and manage team/s on the day.
Selling kit
Required to sell club kit on training nights
Responsible for providing food drinks etc for our club buy ativan online events throughout the year. You will be required to collate a team of people to sell our refreshments not really time consuming 5-6 times a year.
News letter editor
Produce a monthly news letter of what is going on for distribution to club member’s
We need people that are willing and able to raise funds for the club. We have not got a sponsor and need to look at ways at generating income to survive in the future.
Race Marshall
We are always in need of volunteers to marshal athletes at club events such as road races or school cross country events.
Door equipment officer
On club night you will be responsible to make sure all athletics equipment taken out of storage container is returned back to the storage container in good condition. Any thing that has been damaged or is missing must be reported ASAP to club secretary or chairman. You will be required to do a stock count of all training equipment and keep a list of what we hold for inspection and audit purposes.
Club Volunteer Co- Coordinator
To act as a focal point for volunteering within the club, raising the profile of volunteering and support the club wishes to offer volunteers. Recruit new volunteers to the club provide support to them make sure positions in the club are filled. Attend club committee meetings committing three to four hours a week
Junior Co- coordinator
Meet new junior starters wishing to participate or join the club. Identify their needs provide support and feedback also promote the club and benefits. To liaise with junior club development work and co-ordination of school links with the club.
