Early Season Indoor Athletics Results

This page is a compilation of reports from our coaches about the indoor events which started in January.

Claudio Reports

Busy weekend of indoor meetings as Psalm Roberts-Nash and Ellis Greatrex will be competing on Saturday 28th January over the 400m distance at Lee Valley Athletics Centre, there first races of the indoor season. Making his first competitive debut at the same venue and distance is Callum Webb. Neve Evans competes over 200m at the Welsh Senior Indoor Championships. Niall Price will be competing on Sunday 29th January at Sportcity Manchester over 60m. I will update on here there performances as soon as possible after there races

The Indoor Season has started here are reports from Claudio, Howard and Clova about their squads.

The races were at Alexander Stadium where there is an indoor straight.

A message from Joy Bailey about the exploits of group she runs with Michael Walters
Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th January was the first indoor meeing at the HiPAC Birmingham. Seven athletes represented the group and for the first competition gave great performances. On the 14th January La-Taunya Samuels started in the U15 girls long-jump, jumping 3.99 (PB) and position 13th.
On the 15thJanuary, one of our newest members Kamalpreet (Kamai) Singh was the first to compete in the U13 boys 60m (noted under U15). He ran 8.67 position 2nd and 8.71 position 4th. (PBs). Next was the U15 girls 60m, Nifemi Ogunbase was 1st in both of her events running 8.43 and 8.39 (PBs) respectively. La-Taunya Samuels ran 8.64 and 8.57 (PBs) and 2nd in both events. For the U15 boys 60m, Jack Forrest ran both events in 8.70 (PBs) and came 4th and 5th respectively.
With the U17 boys, Brandon Downes ran 7.67 (PB) in the first event, position 2nd and 7.65 (PB) and 3rd in the second event. Morgan Senior ran 7.95 (PB) in the first event, and 7.80 (PB) in the second event and 3rd in both events. Finally, Ackeel Blake ran in the U20s men 60m where he ran 7.50 (PB) position 3rd and in the second event ran 7.43 (PB) position 4th. Details can be found in the powerof10. Claudio Reports

First off the indoor meetings were 14th and 15th January at the HiPac Birmingham. Tyler Bunsie competed in the U20 triple jump on Saturday and placed 1st with a best of 12m 44cm. Harry Drummond in the U20 60 metres ran 2 pbs and in his 2nd round of races finished 1st in his heat with a time of 7.16 second. Niall Price in the U17 60 metres finished 2nd and then 3rd in both of his races with his fastest time coming in round 1 in 7.25 seconds. Solid season openers from all three. Results will be on power of 10 this no prescription canadian pharmacy week and there were also athletes competing from Clova/Howard’s and Michael/Joy’s group who I hope will post there groups results on here.


Howard and Clova Report:



 22 Athletes turned out at the Alexander stadium indoor high performance centre to compete in the regions first indoor competition, this first meeting is short sprints [60m] and Jumps .We decided that all the group would do the 60m including our two 800m runners 400 hurdler and 400m runners with eight athletes having their first ever indoor competition.For most of the jumpers it meant two days of competition, Jumps on Saturday sprints on Sunday .



ETHAN COURT– Started off the weekend winning the under 15 boys Triple Jump in his very first Triple jump competition despite only running off a short run up he won well , he later came back and finished 3rd in the Long  jump with indoor personal best of 5.02 .Stong performances from SOPHIE WORRAL finishing runner up in both the Senior women’s Triple Jump [11-28] and Long Jump [5 -39]   indoor PB for LAUREN FRANCIS MAYE in the Triple Jump , A huge 49cms PB for LAUREN  PARCHMENT in the Long Jump [4 – 73 ]Making their debuts CYNTHIA AGBOR who Long Jumped a very good 4 -72 ,excellent start .Then  JESSICA BUTLER jumping a solid 4.45 after having problems with run up .



Very busy and long day with everyone running and having two races ,Starting with the seniors TRAVIS CHRISTIE dropping down form his 400m hurdles had a great day running two personal bests 7.44 in the morning and  fast 7.36 in the afternoon. SOPHIE WORRAL  also set personal bests of 8.40 and 8.38 – TANNIKA BURGESS after being unwell Ran a solid 8.40.both having jumped the day before. Two PB’s for DAVIAN STEWART with 7.38 and 7.34 , And LAUREN FRANCIS MAYE  beating a 3 year old PB with 8.65. Down to the under 17’s  Two wins and two PB’s for both RAMONE JEFFREY – 7.53 & 7.52  and LARYCE COKE 8.35 & 8.31. PB  and a win for LAUREN PARCHMENT 8.47. A huge .70 PB for ETHAN COURT [7.89]  A good PB for KAI DUDFIELD – 7.45. a strong  run from ELLIE LARKIN 8.54 ,Dropping down from 800m were JASPER COLE [u17] with a fast 7.99 And like wise JESSICA MOORE [u 15] with  8.99 ,Making their debuts with fast runs were MICHELE OWUSU [U17] WITH 8.13.CYNTHIA AGBOR [U 17] 8.33. JESSICA BUTLER [U20] 8.36. With four young development athletes LOUIS COLE [U13] running a fast 8.33 and winning his race , JOSZET TAYLOR [ U15]RAN 8.60 .MORGAN CRANSTON [U15] RAN 9.43 , GRACE EVANS [U13] RAN 10 .39
