The Midland Ladies XC season this year was well represented by our female athletes. As usual there were 4 meetings, each race having in excess of over 100 female athletes competing with the first race entries exceeding 170 females.
As team managers both Trish Morgan and myself were delighted by the number of female athletes who competed for us. For the first time I can remember we had 10 athletes compete in 1 of the races. In addition to the 4 XC events some women athletes represented the club at the Staffs Champs, the Midland Champs and Saturday we have at least 8 females competing in the Nationals!
We are delighted to say that the ladies got medals in two categories:-
Audrey Wilson came joint 2nd in the Individual Veteran Ladies, however she was awarded 3rd place due to her individual positions in the 3 races being higher.
The Ladies Veteran team came 3rd. The importance of fielding a team at each meeting was brought home by the fact that 2 of our rival teams in the running for the medals were eliminated as they couldn’t turn out the
necessary 3 athletes for one meeting. So a big thank you to our veteran online pharmacy canada ladies Audrey Wilson, Sue Weatherburn, Pam McEntee, Trish Morgan, Dilys Stockton, Claire Eveson & myself!
Finally the ladies team came a creditable 8th overall out of 18 teams – our BEST position for some years.
Trish and Myself would like to thank both athletes and supporters for making this season a big success and we hope that this can be built on for the 2008/2009 season.
One final final thing to mention, we need all you female athletes to stay fit & healthy ready for the Road Relays at Sutton Park early April!
