On Sunday 4th May the race walkers went to Victoria Park in London to enter the National Younger Age Championships, the Senior 5km Open and the Vets 3km.
Open Senior women 5km race walker Marie Marshall, who only decided to enter at the last minute, came 6th, (31:49). In the National U17 women’s race Eleanor Jackson came 7th (34:57), Alice Laurie came 4th (33:54), while Vicky Morgan came 2nd (29:49). The winner Lauren Whelan from Manx Harriers won with a time of 27:55.
The U17’s women’s team event was won by Wolves & Bilston, beating order ativan canada Tonbridge AC by 1 point. Well done to Vicky, Alice and Eleanor.
National U15 girl’s race walker Beth Jackson came 2nd, shaving an amazing 47 seconds off her PB with a time of 17:16. The winner was Kelsey Howard from Ashford AC with a time of 16:42.
In the Veteran women’s 3km race Jill Langford (coach) came 5th with 20:29 and Marie Marshall 4th (19:19). Marie did exceptionally well as she had already competed in the 5km race only an hour before.
