We’ll start this week’s update by offering our thanks and congratulations to everyone involved in the two weeks of summer camps which came to a conclusion this week. The club hosted 133 athletes over the fortnight, with 7 coaches providing support and 13 of our senior athletes giving up their free time to assist. The budding superstars have thoroughly enjoyed their introduction to athletics and many are keen to get more involved. There has been a huge commitment from all participating and it’s great to see coaches supporting this initiative. This is where we get our future stars, so well done to all the athletes, coaches, organisers and helpers who have contributed to make this a resounding success.
In other news it was a relatively quiet week, there was some track action in the England Masters AA Outdoor Inter Area Track & Field Championship where Greg Asbury placed 2nd over 400 in the M50 division in a time of 56.75. Greg also ran a leg of the 4 x 100 relay for the Midlands Masters team with the quartet placing 2nd in 51.47.
And that ladies and gentlemen, appears to be it for this week.
