Weekly update – 5th February 2026

We’ll start part 2 of catching up on events in January with news of more impressive indoor exploits.

Lucie Tait-Harris travelled to Cardiff to take part in the British Masters Indoor Championships over 3000m in an attempt to defend the title she claimed 12 months ago. She pocketed the gold medal finishing in a time of 11.54.8 to take the British title for her age group.

Overseas, Louise Hackett took part in the John Thomas Terrier Classic, an indoor meeting in Boston, Massachusetts racing over a mile and finishing in 4.59.10.  Jack Stockton had also been invited to the same meeting and raced over 3000 and lowered his PB by almost 30 seconds clocking a rapid 8.39.13.

Outdoors there was some more local action in the Stourbridge Stagger, a tough, muddy 10 miler from Mary Steven’s Park, out into the country and back again. Jay Patel placed 40th in 1.20.56.

On the tarmac, there were some good times from the Alsager 5, well known to be a fast course with a stacked field. Tony Cheema clocked 31.35 to take 110th place, and Sabrina Thomas was 158th stopping the clock in 33.49, placing 5th in her age group. And in the Warwick Half Marathon Rob Sannwald-Dunn came home in 1.23.54 to take 96th place.
