There were plenty of Wolverhampton & Bilston vests on show at Sutton Park at the weekend for one of the highlights of Spring. And it was very much spring like weather for the Midlands Road Relays with the sun out, the daffodils blooming, the birds singing and the ice cream van at the Jamboree Stone

It was difficult to find athletes from Wolverhampton & Bilston AC as many were pulling on different vests at the English Schools Cross Country Championships so trawling through the age group results trying to find runners competing under the various banners of Shropshire, Staffordshire and West Midlands was a little like panning for gold. Apologies

It was the last hurrah for most over the mud as the long cross country season came to a conclusion with the Inter Counties Championships at Prestwold Hall in Loughborough on Saturday.
