The weather was good and the organisation by Stafford Harriers was superb for the Shugborough Relays.
Thanks to great planning by our coaches we put out our strongest team for years. Around 27 teams from Wolves & Bilston turned out for the 4×2 mile relays around the grounds of Shugborough Estate, which included our youngsters up to ‘Ultra super’ vets and even a few from this year’s beginner’s group! We won five trophies, second in another two and third in another one. What a great result as there were 345 teams there!
We were very close in the mens open event, the team of Jack Bonsor, Rich Jones, Ross Jones and Dan Brazier only missing out by 5 seconds. We were very strong in the veterans events and our youngsters were once again superb.
1st in Under 52 girls, under 52 boys, under 64 boys, Men’s vets 160, Men’s Ultra vets 200.
2nd in Men’s open, Ladies vets 160.
3rd in Ladies open.
