Weekly update – 20th December 2025

There was more cross-country action with a pre-Christmas county championship event at the weekend, and more action on the tarmac as we lead up to the festive season.

We’ll start with the Worcestershire Cross Country Championships at Warley Woods where it was a family affair for the club. Samuel Worrall placed 7th in the U11 boys race, covering the distance in 5.40, Nahum Worrall took the runners up spot in the U15 boys race clocking 14.54, and Gary Worrall placed 20th in 35.39 in the Senior mens competition.

There was some fast action over 10k at Telford where a change to the course due to a sink hole meant the super rapid route was a little different and a little more challenging, but there were still some fantastic times to report. James Neilson was first home for the club in 144th in 32.01, Alex Blair was 296th in 34.41, Alex Kelly placed 337th in 35.08, Paul Marson was 512th in 37.34, Beth Rawlinson was 535th in 37.59, Lindsay McCallum was 8th lady in a stacked field and 578th overall in a PB of 38.28 and Sabrina Thomas was 739th in 41.55.

There was some festive action in the Sneyd Christmas pudding run, with a medal, t-shirt and a pud for all finishers. Over 5 miles Dave Norman finished 15th in 35.35, Sarah Whitehead (formerly Thurley) was a place behind in 16th in 36.29, and over 10 miles Ashley Atkinson was 16th in 1.00.46.

And finally, there was some marathon action in Spain where Dave Joynson and Gill Mitchell bagged another 26.2 mile contest. Dave finished in 3.35.40 in 2637th place, Gill was 7500th in 5.49.00.
