After a busy few weeks, it was a quieter time at the weekend, a time to regather before we throw ourselves into the helter-skelter of the cross-country season. There were still some opportunities to pull on the vest and race with a handful taking full advantage to get amongst the prizes.
There was some half marathon action in Shrewsbury where Luke Maskew completed the 13.1-mile distance over an undulating course in a quickfire 1.13.54, Sundeep Sunar was 66th in 1.32.08.
Dan Maskew went one better in the Bournville Leafy 10 taking the runners up spot, just under a minute behind the winner and almost three minutes ahead of the third-place finisher, crossing the line in 33.52. Also, over the same distance Andy Horton completed the Vitality London 10k despite struggling with injury, coming home in 54.46.
