Athletes from Wolverhampton & Bilston AC we back in cross country action at the weekend, this time taking part in the National Cross Country Relays in Mansfield. We had an incomplete team in the U17 ladies event with Megan White running 9.34 for the first lag and Scarlett Willoughby taking the second leg in 11.04.
There was some action on the tarmac, even if some of it was on muddy, flooded country lanes, in the Flying Fox 10, a 10 miler near Stone in Staffordshire. With the race combining as a county championship event a handful of our athletes were running in county colours. Jon Hart, representing Staffordshire, was 4th overall and 1st M45 in 54.06, Dan Turner was 11th in 57.12 in a Shropshire vest and also in the blue and yellow of Shropshire, Sabrina Thomas placed 95th in 1.12.04. Mark Perry was in his club colours placing 216th in 1.37.13.
And our marathon duo were at it again, this time in Belgium, competing in the Brussels Airport Marathon with Dave Joynson placing 377th in 3.25.14 and Gill Mitchell stopping the clock in 5.21.04 to place 2421st.
