Weekly update 14th July 2023

It was another busy weekend both on an off the track for the club, but let’s start with an apology. I knew I would forget someone from the hectic weekend of the English Schools, I’m sorry that it was Amelia Hancock, who placed 9th with a throw of 38.48 in the U20W hammer.

Miguel Francis was back on track last weekend, having jetted in from Antigua a couple of weeks ago to take part in the UK Championships in Manchester. Sporting the black vest Miguel clocked 10.30 to win his heat but then came up against Reece Prescod in the semifinal, Prescod claimed the win in 10.09, Oliver Bromby of Southampton was runner up in 10.27 to claim the second automatic qualifying spot and progress to the final with Harry Aikines-Aryeetey taking 3rd and picking up a fastest loser qualifier with 10.33, frustratingly the same time Miguel recorded in 4th place to just miss out on a spot in the final.
