Weekly update- 14th July 2024

For this week’s action let’s start with the Triangular League results that I have finally managed to get hold of thanks to Hannah Campion. We can now tidy up the performances from the fixture on the 2nd June. Thiliana Owen was 1st in the U13G 100 in 13.80 with Poppy Richardson placing 5th in 16.90 and Amiyah Kumar Pal clocking 16.60 as a non-scorer. Biba Guest was 1st in the U13G 800 in 2.44.8, with Amiyah Kumar Pal placing 3rd in 2.53.1 and Katy Camilleri recorded as 8th in 2.36.2. The club placed 2nd in the U13G 100 relay in 62.90. Katy Camilleri was 1st in the U13g 1k walk in 7.50.6. Poppy Richardson placed 5th with a leap of 2.63 in the U13G long jump, Amiyah Kumar Pal was 3rd in the U13G shot with a distance of 4.07 with Biba Guest placing 4th with 3.07,

Hero Johnson-Woods won the U11G 75 with 11.80 with Esmee-Nyah Gray clocking 12.10 for 2nd place and Alba Jones being given 8th place with 12.70 and Isla Gaunt 12th with 12.40. Alba Jones won the U11G 600 in 1.55.0 with Chloe Cashmore-Jones finishing 2nd with 2.07.3 and Isla Gaunt given 7th in 2.12.7. The club won the U11G 50 relay in 35.00. Hero Johnson- Woods was 2nd in the U11G discus with a throw of 5.91, Alba Jones throwing 4.22. Esmee-Nyah Gray won the U11G long jump with 3.01, Isla Gaunt was given 6th with 2.28 and Hero Johnson-Woods was 7th with 2.05.

In the boys events Callum Hamilton placed 3rd with 14.90 in the U13B 100, Nahum Worrall was 5th with 16.00 and Frankie Mason was 9th with 16.80. There was a win for Jonathan Yang in the U13B 800 in 2.23.3, Harry Monkton was 2nd with 2.28.4, Nahum Worrall was given 7th with 2.37.0 and Frankie Mason 8th with 3.07.3. Callum Hamilton was 2nd over 100 in 62.50, and also claimed 3rdplace in the U13B long jump with a distance of 3.93, with Harry Monkton placing 4th with 3.54.

Lewis Neilson was 5th in the U13B discus with a throw of 8.26, Lewis threw 4.15 for 4th in the U13B shot. Cameron Guest was 2nd with 11.60 in the U11B 75, George Shaw was 3rd with 12.30, Ryan Lovegrove was 7th with 11.90, George Nicholls 8th with 12.20, Stanley Cooper 10th with 13.00, Laurie Yeomans 12th with 12.30, Edison Bowden 13th with 12.90, Evan Nash 15th with 13.00, Harry Mackay 16th with 12.70, George Gartside 17th with 12.90, Seth Owen-Stuart 18th with 13.90 and Joshua Hayes 19th with 14.00. George Nicholls won the U11B 600 in 1.55.0, Cameron Guest placed 2nd with 2.02.2, Ryan Lovegrove was 7th with 2.00.9, Edison Bowden 8th in 2.03.9, Laurie Yeomans 9th with 2.07.0, Evan Nash 10th in 2.07.4, George Gartside 14th with 2.18.2, Joshua Hayes 15th with 2.20.6 and Stanley Cooper 16th with 2.21.7. The club were 2nd in 35.20 and 3rd in 35.70 in the U11B 50 relays.

In the discus George Shaw threw 13.59 to win the U11B comp with Seth Owen-Stuart taking 2nd with 7.72. George also took 2nd in the long jump with 3.48, with Harry Mackay 3rd with 2.94. Laurie Yeomans was 2nd in the U11B high jump with a clearance of 0.95.

There was some midweek track action at Loughborough in a BMC Regional Meeting where Owen Ulfig was 9th and 1st U17 over 1500 in 3.57.77, Louie Lambeth placed 16thin his race in 4.20.35, and Garry Palmer was 9th in his race in 4.41.55. 

Athletes were on the road in the 3rd race of Telford’s Sexarathon Series in the Shropshire 4 where Dan Maskew was first back for the club in 8th place in 21.20, Luke Maskew was 11th in 21.51, Dan Turner 12th in 21.54, Tom Isherwood 20th in 22.35, Danny Malone 28th in 23.27, Rob Cartwright 35th in 24.03, Tony Cheema 44th in 24.45, Dave Newport 46th in 24.47, Simon Calrow 98th in 27.35, James Hodgkiss 99th in 27.33, Rob Edwards 112th in 28.19, and Rob Edwards also 122nd in 28.55. Jo Lane placed 130th in 29.08, Ian Thursfield 141st in 29.34, Veronika Foster was 150th in 30.25, Paul Tabor 152nd in 30.32, Mark Perry 172nd in 31.27, Craig Buggins 200th in 32.37.

And there was some relay action at the Stafford Showground on Wednesday where teams of 4 ran a 2 mile loop. A team of Beth Tabor with 12.04, Lucie Tait-Harris with 13.05, Holly Baddeley with 12.54 and Sabrina Thomas with 13.58, giving a total time of 52.03, placed 3rdin the ladies Open category. A team of James Neilson 10.35, Zak Sandhu-Whitton 11.22, Dylan Illidge 11.39 and Paul Marson 11.45  were 3rd in the Male Open race with a total time of 45.23, and a team of Alex Kelly with 12.22, Jo Flatley with 12.35, Stu Whitehouse with 13.29 and Paul Clarke with 14.30 placed 17th in 52.58.
