It’s been rather hectic recently and unfortunately, I’ve been a little incapacitated so there’s plenty to catch up to do in what will bee a bumper edition. So, I’ll work my way through what I can find and I apologise in advance if I miss anything, I’ll blame the pain killers. I’ve trawled through the results on Power of 10 so if they’re not on there I won’t find them. This will take us up to the 11thJune so some from the weekend may appear later in the week.
Here goes…..there was some track action in the Loughborough PB Classic where Seb Palmer clocked 2.18.65 for 5th place and 2nd U13 over 800m, Oscar Davis was 2nd over 1500 in 4.09.52, There was more action on the oval at the University of Birmingham Track & Field Series Meeting on Wednesday evening where Theo Ulfig was 2nd in his race over 800 in 2.30.81, Lila Pearce was 3rd in the same race in 2.32.46. Isobelle Jones placed 5th and 1st U20 over 1500 in 4.28.61in a BMC race. Seb Palmer claimed bragging rights in his house finishing in 4th and 1st U13 over 1500 in 4.41.46 with a bit of showboating to the crowd in the home straight, Garry Palmer was 9th in the same race in 4.49.06 and Zoleka Joy Mzuku was 14th and 1st U17 lady in 5.00.81. Fred Jones finished 1st U15B in 4.19.47 over 1500, Oscar Davies was 5th U17M in 4.22.94 and Louie Lambeth placed 9th SM in 4.27.81. Oliver Cresswell was 1st U17M in 4.09.83 in his 1500 race. And over 5000 there was a 7th SW finish for Beth Tabor in 19.54.14. Back over 1500 there was a 1st W50 place for Lucie Tait-Harris who went from one extreme to another, from marathon to 1500, clocking 5.22.60.
Elsewhere there was a 2nd place finish for Quai Quintyne who clocked 23.8 for 200, Owen Ulfig placed 1st in 8.47.6 over 3000, Jack Richardson recorded a distance of 27.15 in the U17 javelin to place 9th at the Staffordshire Schools Championships.
And at the Shropshire Schools Championships there was a 2nd place finish for Will Hughes in 4.38.3, Jack Stockton was 1st in 9.13.8 over 3000 for U17M, Ava Kind placed 1stin 10.57.9 for U20W over the same distance, Ethan Kendrick recorded 54.95 to win the U17M hammer, Amelia Hancock won the U20W hammer with a throw of 41.09, and although not listed as W&B I’ve spotted Belle Willoughby who placed 4th in 31.1 in the U15W 200 and Scarlett Willoughby who was 1st over 800 in a season’s best of 2.38.5.
In the Midlands Senior and U20 Championships Beth Rawlinson placed 1st over 1500 in 4.45.44, Connor Blincoe was 6th over 400 in 54.00. Tammy Saunders was 2nd in 11.96 and La-Taunya Samuels placed 3rd in 12.43 in their heat to qualify for the 100 final where Tammy took 3rd place in 12.01 with Lattie placing 6th in 12.40.
There was track action even further afield where Miguel Francis came 1st in his 100 heat in 10.45 and then won the final in 10.46 in Antigua.
And Jake Brown took things to extremes by taking part in the Endure 24 race, lap after lap around a multi terrain course in Reading from noon on Saturday until noon on Sunday, finishing with 100 miles covered in 23.55.41.
