Weekly update 15th March 2024

Even though the league season has reached its conclusion there was more cross country action for athletes from Wolverhampton & Bilston AC as those talented enough to pull on a county vest, having gained selection at the regional championships early in January, were at the Inter Counties Cross Country Championships at Wollaton Park, in Nottingham.

Jack Stockton placed 36th in the U15s race in a time of 13.04 and Will Hughes was 149th in 13.56 in the same race. Oliver Cresswell was 89th in 19.10 in the U17s race, James Neilson finished in 25.35 to take 79th place in the U20s race and Louie Lambeth was 218th in 31.49 in the Senior Mens race. Rosie Kind placed 114th in 19.41 and Megan White was 119th in 19.43 in the U17s race.

In the University of Birmingham Winter Throws and Distance Meet Aisha Abdulla thew a season’s best of 10.03 to place 3rd in the U17 ladies shot competition.

And there was an outing on the tarmac for Dylan Illidge who raced the Tatton Park 5k finishing in 3rd place in a time of 17.51.
