The way the cross-country season works it’s peaks and trough, busy one week, quiet the next, either feast or famine, but even amongst the cross country crumbs there are some very tasty morsels on the table last weekend. The tasty race was the West Midlands County Schools’ Championships at Warley Woods where a trio of club athletes toed the line.
There was a win in the U20 mens race for Fred Jones, registered at U15 Fred was giving at least 3 years away to some of the U20 athletes, but still crossed the line in 1st place, covering the 4.4k distance in 14.15. Isobelle Jones also claimed a win in the U20 womens race, crossing the line over a minute ahead of the runner up, racing the 3k course in a rapid 10.09 and Megan White was an impressive 6th in 12.02.
