Weekly update – 27th April 2025

This week’s round up starts very close to home with the Fordhouses 5k, our very own race around the canal tow paths and walkways of Pendeford. As a result, there was a superb turn out from the club to help organise, to marshal, to support, and to race and with the entry fee priced at just £12 we were hopeful of a good-sized field. Sixty-nine athletes toed the line with Rob Meredith of Tipton Harriers leading them home in 16.14, our own Dan Maskew was runner up in 16.20 and Will Hughes, a young wolf, took 3rd place in 16.28. He was followed home by Alex Blair in 16.40, Sam Thursfield in 16.43, Ben Foster in 17.12 and Derrick Milligan in 17.28, all from the host club. And with Tom Pryor placing 10th in 17.55 Wolverhampton & Bilston could boast 7 of the top 10 finishers. Paul Marson was 11th in 18.04, Joe Flatley 14th in 18.23, Tony Cheema 15th in 18.49 and Sundeep Sunar 16th in 19.02.

With the Easter holidays falling over the weekend things were quiet but there was more weekend action as Telford ACs Sexarathon Series got underway with the Lilleshall 5, the traditional out and back course of almost two miles of downhill to start but with a two-mile uphill to finish.
