We’ll start this week’s update with some indoor action at the Manchester Indoor Open Meeting at Sportcity where Aupromeyo Mukherjee clocked 7.50 over 60 metres coming first in his race.
Outdoors Ashley Atkinson took part in the 9 Locks 10k, although advertised as flat, aren’t they all, this was a point-to-point race along the canal towpath from Stourbridge to The Waterfront on the towpath with all the incline and the locks going against the runners. When all the results were collated from each wave Ashley was placed 11th overall clocking 41.43.
There was some action over the half marathon distance in Leicestershire at the Stanwick Lakes Christmas Run where Ben Pilsbury finished in 3rd place, well adrift of the 2nd place runner but well ahead of 4th, Ben ran a lonely 1.28.33.
And Derrick Milligan took part in the British Masters 5k championships at Battersea Park, in a stacked field Derrick crossed the line in a rapid 17.14 to take 75th overall and 17th M45 in the country.
