The action continued apace this week across track, tarmac and trail.
There was track action in Worcester in the Youth Development League Midland North & East E Division, where Wolverhampton & Bilston find themselves in mid table in 3rd place in the league following the latest round. There was a 2nd place finish for Aupremeyo Mukherjee with 11.9 in the 100 U15M A race, Hugo Helmer was 2nd in 13.8 in the B race. Tyann Mahey won the 100 NS U15M A with 13.7 and Uriah Thompson won the NS B race in 14.7. Over 200 there was another 2nd place for Aurpremeyo with 24.8 in the U15M A and a 3rd place for Uriah with 30.4 in the B race. Over 300 Hugo Helmers was 3rd with 43.5 in the 300 U15M A. Over 800 Jonathan Yang placed 2nd in 2.15.6 in the A race, Aaron Guest was 3rd in 2.38.1 in the B race. Over 1500 Theo Ulfig was 2nd in 4.32.2 in the A race and in the B Harry Monkton placed 2nd in 4.40.5.
In the field events Hugo Helmers placed 2nd in the A long jump with 4.08, Uriah Thompson was 3rd in the B competition with 3.30. Tyann Mahey was 3rd in the high jump clearing 1.25. and in the throws Jonathan Yang placed 4th in the shot with 5.79 and Lewis Neilson was 4th with 4.48 in the B event. Lewis grabbed another 4th place with 10.49 in the A discus. Tyann placed 3rd in the hammer with 11.81. In the javelin Jonathan Yang placed 3rd with 21.93 and Lewis Neilson was 3rd in the B competition throwing 14.83.
In the relays the U15 mens team of Tyann Mahey, Uriah Thompson, Hugo Helmers and Aurpemeyo Mukherjee placed 1st in 52.0 in the 4 x 100, and in the 4 x 300 there was a 4th place for Aaron Guest, Jonathan Yang, Theo Ulfig and Harry Monkton with 3.03.0.
In the ladies side of the competition Samantha Agomoh won the 100 U15 A race in 12.3, Michelle Okafor won the B race with 12.8. In the NS race Grace Oluwajobi was 2nd in 14.2 and Rochee Gordon was 3rd in 14.6. Over 200 there was another win for Samantha in 25.8 and a win for Michelle in the B race in 26.9. Over 300 Amira Moulder placed 4th in the A race with 47.1, Kaleah Moulder was 4thin 47.5 in the B race. Over 800 Kiki Guest placed 2nd in 2.30.0 in the A race, and in the B race Erin-Mia Nash placed 1st in 2.44.9. Amiyah Kumar Pal won the NS A race in 2.57.7 and Clara Butler-Montero won the NS B race in 2.39.7. Over 1500 Alice Cattell placed 2nd in 5.54.5.
In the field events Grace Oluwajobi was 5th with 3.42, Rochee Gordon was 5th in 2.99 in the B competition. In the high jump Grace Rogers was 5th in the A event clearing 1.20 and Erin-Mia Nash was 3rd in the B comp with 1.15. There was a 3rd place in the A shot with 5.95 for Esi-Boahemma Djabanor with 5.95, Rochee Gordon was 2nd with 4.42 in the B event. Esi-Boahemma won the discus with 17.99, Grace Rogers winning the B competition with 12.21, Esi-Boahemma was 2nd in the hammer with 18.31 and 3rd in the A javelin with 19.77. Kiki Guest coming 2nd in the B javelin with 11.80.
And in the relays Michelle Okafor, Grace Rogers, Kaleah Moulder and Samantha Agomoh won the 4 x 100 with 53.9, Erin-Nia Nash, Alice Cattell, Clara Butler-Montero and Kiki Guest were 3rd in the 4 x 300 in 3.21.2.
In the U13s competition Callum Hamilton placed 3rd with 10.9 in the 75M A race, Callum also placed 3rd with 21.7 in the 150 A race. Seb Palmer won the 1200 in 3.37.8. Callum took 3rd place in the long jump with a leap of 4.17.
And for the girls there was a 3rd place for Esmee-Nyah Gray with 10.9 over 75 metres, Retina Gordon placed 3rd with 11.6 in the B race. Biba Guest was 2nd over 75 in the NS A race with 11.3 and Yonitse Djabanor was 4th in the NS B race with 14.8. Over 150 there was a 5th place for Orlia Ouli with 23.6, Esmee-Nyah Gray was 1st in the B race with 21.6. Over 800 there was a 2nd place for Biba Guest with 2.29.7. Esmee-Nia was 4th in the A long jump with 3.65 and Retina was 4th with 3.22 in the B competition. Retina was also 3rd in the high jump clearing the bar at 1.20 with Orlia winning the B competition with 1.15. In the throws Yonitse Djabanor won the shot with 6.62, Biba Guest was 2nd in the B event with 4.24, Yonitse was 2nd in the A javelin with 13.97 and in the relays Retina Gordon, Orlia Ouli, Biba Guest and Yonitse Djanabor were 5th in the 4 x 100 with 67.4.
There was action on the roads in the Penkridge 10k where Luke Maskew placed 5th in 34.10, Dan Turner was 7th in 34.21, Ben Pilsbury was 19th in 37.59, Paul Dean 26th in 38.42, Lee Pearson placed 33rd in 39.31, Veronika Foster was 200th overall and 10th female in 48.17, Craig Buggins was 370th in 53.53 and Ruby Buggins was 466th in 56.59. Over the shorter distance in the Penkridge Fun Run Danni Braine claimed the 1st F50 prize and 5th female in 15.05 placing 23rd overall.
Jake Brown took part in the Endure 24-hour event in Leeds with the aim to run for the full 24 hour period through the night however an Achilles issues forced him to cut short. He still managed 172nd place as a solo runner covering 89.92k or 11 laps of the 10k ish course in 11.14.34 with a fastest lap of 42.30.
And our marathon duo were in action again in the Wales Marathon in Tenby which forms part of their triathlon long course weekend. Dave Joynson put in another consistent showing coming home in 3.40.56 to take 100th place and 1st M60, Gill Mitchell gutted through another tough marathon in the heat and also carrying a minor calf tear to finish in a resilient 6.12.38.
There was some midweek action over the trails in the Kinver Dirt Run over 10k where Ben Pilsbury was 2nd in 46.01 and Jay Patel was 3rd in 48.44. And in race 4 of Telford AC’s Sexarathon Series there were some top-class performances in the Vic Musgrove 5k, an ever-popular event in its own right, attracting many who target the race as a one-off chance for a fast time. In a race won in an incredible 15.06 our first back was Dan Turner in 15th place in a time of 16.18, a time that would have won a lot of local races. Alex Kelly produced an outstanding performance to finish in 23rd in 16.50, Steve Newman was 29th in 17.01, Dylan Illidge was 35th in 17.16, Paul Marson placed 43rd in 17.34, Lee Pearson was 71st in 18.40, just holding off Dave Newport who was a place and a single second behind in 18.41, Brett Robinson was 85th in 19.20, Sabrina Thomas 93rd and 2nd F35 in 19.37, Joe Flatley 110th in a frustrating 20.01, Rob J Edwards 118th in 20.09, Andy Horton 126th in 20.21, Sarah Thurley 140th and 2nd F40 in 20.46, Simon Calrow 146th and 3rd M65 in 21.00 ahead of Darren Owen-Jones in 147th in 21.02, Maria Calleia finished in 157th in 21.16, Emily Simmonds was 185th in 22.03, Rob Edwards was 191st in 22.24, Ian Thursfield 194th in 22.27, Mark Perry 212th in 23.14 and Danni Braine crossed the line in 222nd place stopping the clock in 23.23.
