After weeks and weeks of relentless action it was a little quieter over the last 7 days, but there was still plenty going on to fill a report on our exploits.
We’ll start with the University of Birmingham Track & Field Series last Wednesday where Owen Ulfig placed 4th over 1500 in 3.56.34, Theo Ulfig placed 7th and 2nd U15B with a shiny new PB of 4.37.27 and Seb Palmer was 15th in his heat and 1st U13B in 4.47.55.

Over 1200 Seb Palmer claimed a victory in the U13M A race in 3.41.1, he also won a lot of friends as we have received a wonderful email from the parents of a Telford AC athlete referring to Seb’s behaviour. I won’t give you the full email here, but they complimented Seb for “What a lasting impression he made in a moment!” They went on to explain that he rallied the rest of the boys who all started clapping their son who was in last place and congratulated him as he crossed the line prompting the others to follow suit. They said that “The leadership and true sportsmanship this young man showed in this moment will impact my son for a long time to come. He showed him not to be embarrassed or humiliated to come last but to be proud of himself for showing courage and determination to step out to compete and finish the race. In that moment he showed him kindness and most importantly respect.” I think she shows exactly what this club and the group he trains with is about.
