There was more track action in Birmingham in the England Athletics U20 and Senior Championships where Miguel Francis took 1st place  in his 100 heat in 10.81, he lowered that time to 10.44 taking 1st place in the semi final before  bagging the runners up spot in the final in a time of 10.46 to take silver. Tammy Saunders was also competing over 100 placing 5th in 12.75 in her heat in the seniors competition. In the U23 event La-Taunya Samuels was 6th over 100 in 12.74 in her heat. Rich finished this epic journey in 31.05.14.

Finally, there was some action on the tarmac on a hot Saturday afternoon in Shrewsbury in the Shrewsbury 5k festival where athletes raced over five one kilometre laps in three races based on expected finishing time and then were lumped together in the overall results. Great for spectators as runners were whizzing past every couple of minutes, not so great for runners who were going dizzy. There were plenty of PBs about with Luke Maskew coming home fastest for the club in 22nd place in 16.12, Ben Foster was 37th in 17.05, there was a great race between Derrick Milligan, who was 53rd in 17.57, Alex Kelly who smashed his PB in the process of taking 54th place in 17.59 and Tony Cheema who was 56th in 18.03.
